School Sports
The annual inter class football leagues were played during September and October. 112 boys from fourth, fifth and sixth classes entered the league. There were plenty of exciting matches played with great examples of skill and sportsmanship on all teams. The final between Tír Eoghain and An Mhí was an exciting affair with all classes in the school out to support the teams. Despite a slow start to the league, An Mhí finished strongly to win the final, beating teams in the knockout stages that they had previously lost to in the league. Mrs Breda Smyth has sponsored the leagues for many years and very kindly came to the school to make the presentations again this year.
The Player of the League was awarded to Shane Whelan.
The winning An Mhí team was: Oisín Nolan (captain), Kamil Cierpisz, Lee Judge, Jack Fitzpatrick, Keith McDonagh, Killian Brosnan, Aaron Lynch, Jack Reddin, Cathal O’Sullivan, P.J. Harney, Niall Wall. Hugh Nevin, Michael Farrell, Andrew Swayne, Matthew Doyle, Aaron Keane, Conor O’ Brien.
