Daffodil day
Daffodil Day is organised and run by the Irish Cancer Society. It is the most popular charity event in Ireland and is a chance for everyone in Ireland to make the biggest difference to the lives of everyone affected by cancer. And with more people than ever being diagnosed with cancer, supporting Daffodil Day is more important than ever.
The funds raised during the event are used in these vital areas:
Patient care: Thanks to your support, around 1,600 families in Ireland will receive free care from a night nurse this year and 19 oncology liaison nurses in hospitals around the country will be on hand to give practical and emotional assistance to people with cancer.
Information:The cancer society produces some of the latest advice and support on cancer, and free information that can really help someone who's in the dark and feeling frightened. The Cancer Information Service is available weekdays 9am-7pm (5pm on a Friday) on Freefone 1800 200 700, while the email service is helpline@irishcancer.ie
